Whether you are an advanced player or a beginner, Social Backgammon at Brinkleys is a chance to improve your game in amusing company.

On hand to guide you are Will Cockerell (who recently defeated the World Champion in a game in Gibraltar)  and Tariq Siddiqi, who's clocked up more competitive games than anyone else in the UK.

About Tariq Siddiqi

Tariq is now the UK's most experienced Backgammon player, clocking 19,580 UK Backgammon Federation (UKBF) registered games over the last ten years. He is a top-ranking player at the UKBF Ealing Ladder (recently #1) and is the Tournament Director at Holland Park Backgammon.

About Will Cockerell

In 2003, Will decided to play backgammon seriously and is now one of the UK's leading players. He won the world's largest backgammon doubles tournament in Cyprus in 2022. Will finished well, too, at the recent Monte Carlo World Championships and the Dubai Open. He's also a columnist for the UK Backgammon Federation.

Will is the son of well-known BBC documentary maker Michael Cockerell, and for those who know the Sea Club in Mallorca, he's an old stager there.

It's at Brinkleys, where the wine's fabulous, dinner (if you want it) is delicious and where the service is attentive (and fast).

Dress: Glittering and Glamorous

You must know the basic rules and how to lay out and play the pieces.

Players can bring non-playing friends to watch and drink at the bar without paying the fee.
Just let David Bradley know who's coming in advance.

How it works

1) Pick you opponent.

2) Give your drinks order to the attending waiter.

2) Play one game.
3) Raise your hand if you want a second opinion on a move.

4) Move on to your next opponent.

5) Repeat, or repair to the bar to find refreshments - and more opponents.
