Meet tech entrepreneur Ian Smith to learn what future AI holds - for society, business and our lives.

AI is no longer on the horizon—it is already shaping the decisions that govern economies, industries, and daily life.

About Ian Smith

Ian Smith is a technology strategist. He's led multi-billion dollar software businesses, built and sold technology companies to IBM, secured investment from Salesforce, and now runs a fast-growing AI podcast, BASELINE (with over 100,000 listens/episode). He'll separate fact from fiction and explore whether AI will indeed lead to Utopia - or, terrifyingly, dystopia.
Key discussion points include:
* What is myth and what is reality in AI?
* What do AI Utopia and Dystopia mean and look like?
* Will AI drive economic disruption or unlock new opportunities?
* How massive AI-generated abundance for all could lead not to Utopia, but miserable dystopia.
* Are we in "AI Utopia" today - to some extent? (Who are improving their lives and businesses with AI right now?)
* Which industries are AI-resistant, and which are vulnerable?
* How can business leaders and policymakers use AI to their advantage? Can AI cut Government bureaucracy so we pay little tax?
* Will human creativity evaporate if the UK proceeds with the Tony Blair Institute's proposed changes to copyright law? (This allows AI tech businesses to use copyrighted material to train their AI models better.)
This talk cuts through the hype, delivering a clear and practical perspective on AI's risks and opportunities—essential for those shaping the future of business and government.
